This trip was tough. It’s hard to put into words seeing others live joyfully with so little. Humbling to say the least. I was asked to be part of this team to help spread awareness of what One Child Matters is doing over in the Philippines. These kids need more life. They need more resources, they need a chance. Our goal was to tell these stories in hopes for a better life for these kids. We needed to spread awareness and share the hard things in life. This journey was NOT to exploit these kids and say “hey look at me, I’m doing good by showing these poor children.” NO. That wasn't the case at all. One Child Matters is changing lives and giving these kids a chance. They truly convey their message, Hope in Hard Places. I felt like God needed me there and wanted me to share these stories. I feel blessed to have walked with the team that was there and share these moments with them. This collection consists of two different missions. One of which took place in the mountains in a place called Paco Paco. The tribe that lives in this village basically means“Left Behind.” Pretty hard to fathom. The other mission was near Bajau City with the Bajau people or the Sea Gypsies. This village had zero waste management and these families live in their own waste. So so sad. Here is a link to see how you can help! These kids have hope. We can all make a difference.
